The 4th IFAC Conference on Advances in Proportional-Integral-Derivative Control (PID 2024) will be held Wednesday through Friday, June 12-14, at the University of Almería, Spain – the European city with more sunny hours a year and city between the Tabernas desert and the Natural park of “Cabo de Gata”. The venue is only at 10 min by bus to the city center to approach all cultural heritage places, historical monuments, restaurants, shopping, and entertainment areas. The venue is easily accessible by car with parking facilities.
Proportional-Integral-Derivative (PID) controllers are undoubtedly the most employed controllers in industry. The PID 2024 will be the sequel of PID 2000 in Terassa, Spain, PID 2012 (PID12) in Brescia, Italy, and PID 2018 in Ghent, Belgium. These previous three meetings proved to be great successes and have given a significant impulse in research direction of PID controllers, as seen in the last decade in literature reports. The PID 2024 conference is a timely and necessary event, driven by the challenges and perspectives of the new digitalization context and the renewed role of the PID controller in this new environment. In addition to provide the current state-of-art in the field, the meeting aims at providing a perspective of the future requirements for PID controllers within the current challenges on industry. In this sense, our aim is to organize a conference with an important participation from both, industry and academia.
The technical program will comprise several types of presentations in regular and special sessions, digital poster presentations, competitions and exhibits.
In this new edition of the IFAC PID conference, we would like to increase the time for discussions and meetings among the attendees. To this end, we have proposed a different style of the conference, where we will only have one single track for all presentations. In this way, attendees will be able to follow all the conference contributions. See more information here.
